Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. announced that its full featured CDE-HD149BT and CDE-HD148BT CD receivers are shipping.  The receivers have an array of features geared for true car audio enthusiasts and are compatible with Alpine’s smartphone sound tuning app, Alpine TuneIt™.

“Car audio fans will enjoy the numerous features on the CDE-HD149BT and CDE-HD148BT,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.  “The Alpine TuneIt app simplifies the tuning capabilities of these CD receivers, so users can easily customize their audio systems to their liking.”

Entertainment and Information Features

The CDE-HD149BT and CDE-HD148BT are full of entertainment sources.  Both units have a built-in HD Radio receiver and a rear USB port for high-speed USB connections to music libraries stored on an iPod®, iPhone or USB drive.  They offer full Pandora® internet radio control from Android™ and iPhone® smartphones.  The CDE-HD149BT and CDE-HD148BT are compatible with SiriusXM Satellite Radio, when used with the SXV200 Connect Vehicle Tuner (tuner and subscription required, sold separately).  Basic control of iPhone apps are available through the App Direct Mode, which also displays available metadata on the faceplate.

Both units feature advanced BT Plus Bluetooth® wireless technology with audio streaming and Digital Sound Processing (DSP) expansion for improved music sound quality.  The supplied microphone can be mounted closer to the driver for better phone call sound quality.  Other functions include easy phone pairing, call waiting, and display of phone battery, signal level and received message icons on the faceplate.

Alpine TuneIt Sound Tuning and Sharing App

The CDE-HD149BT and CDE-HD148BT CD receivers are compatible with Alpine TuneIt, the new smartphone app for sound tuning and sharing.  Alpine TuneIt is free and available now on the App StoreSM and on Google® Play.  It allows users to adjust detailed sound tuning settings through an intuitive graphical user interface on an iPhone or Android smartphone.  Multiple setting variations can be made and saved for use with specific types of music, or users can choose from pre-made, vehicle specific settings in the Alpine TuneIt database.  The smartphone only needs to be connected via USB (for iPhone) or Bluetooth (for Android) when downloading the settings onto the CD receiver.

Alpine TuneIt lets users share their sound settings as well as rate sound settings made by others.  Active members are rewarded by having their status progressed within the app.  Users are also notified when there is incoming activity on their Facebook wall, through an audible alert and a blinking glass button.  The Facebook icon and the sender’s name appear on the screen, to remind the driver to check the Facebook account on the phone when the car is parked.
