18 StanceWars Houston TX 2017 PASMAG

After the ravaging hurricanes, no one was sure if there would be any shows come late fall in Texas. Several of the events were canceled or put on hold until they could see what was going to happen. StanceWars was considering doing the same, but luckily, with the change in venue from Minute Maid Field to Lone Star Expo and Convention Center, the event ended up just outside the city and outside a lot of the destruction.

With new changes comes new expectations and StanceWars aimed to meet those, with the new venue providing ample space, lush green grass, and more flexibility with hotels for guests coming to experience the weekend.

As you pull up to any StanceWars experience, you always hear the music popping, see lines of people, and some of the hottest cars out there. This year, with the added space, the #Top100 role was quite simple, as they were able to stage all the cars in front of the main stage. The new venue also allowed a lot more VIP parking inside the gate. As usual, the fit and finish on everything from BMWs from VWs were stacked in sweet rows of fitment goodness. Surrounding that was a nice layout of vendors and sponsors, like Toyo Tires, Monster Energy, Funk Fashion, and Slammedenuff, as well as local Texas sticker shops and tire shops.

StanceWars always provides a good experience, as it's not just a car show to them; it's about getting the car family together and having a good time. Throughout the day, prizes were being given away given off the main stage, especially as the crowd gathered for the air ride\static limbo. As day became night, the awards were ready to be given out and the crowd gathered once more to see what the fitment gods had decided. As the crowds dispersed about an hour later, StanceWars started up the VIP party with drinks flowing at Pappasito's Cantina, where sponsors, vendors, car owners, staffers, and lucky ticket holders enjoyed stiff drinks and appetizers into the evening.

In 2018, StanceWars will be doing two- and three-day events across the nation. This new venue in Conroe, Texas, will be able to provide a solid three-day show from November 16th to 18th next year. While StanceWars will still be Saturday night, Sunday will be a European car show called "Sophisticated Euro" and an all old-school import event called "The Old School Reunion." With all sorts of fun planned for next year's StanceWars, it's sure to be a three-day festival for the petrol head in all of us. www.stancewars.com

SEMA 2015: The Raddest Things We Saw at SEMA This Year

As always, PASMAG scoured the show floor of the SEMA Show to find some of the coolest things on wheels in existence. From the pre-opening media day to SEMA Ignited on the last night, here are just a few of the things we thought were pretty awesome this year! THE REVIVAL OF RUSTY SLAMMINGTONWe all thought it was gone for good, that old chopped up, rusted and body-scraping BMW E28. The famed Rusty Slammington was the victim of an unfortunate garage fire and the world of stance had a moment of silence. A few years ago, a couple teaser images…

Import Face-Off 2010: Epping, NH

Photos by Cliff Wallace 1st annual New England IMPORT FACE-OFF May 23rd, 2010 at New England Dragway in Epping, NH. After noticing no other national Import events were going back to New England this race season, Import Face-Off continued to fill the void by scheduling New England Dragway in 2010. The event was such a success, Joe Lombardo, New England Dragway manager, has already scheduled the 2nd annual New England IFO for the same weekend in 2011 and most likely a second one in the fall. The stands were packed (see pics) and car show score cards were sold out…

DMCC Round 7 2012: Saint-Pie, QC

The seventh and final round of the DMCC series took place at the Sanair racing facility south of Montreal. It is the first time DMCC has held an event at this track to minimize driver familiarity. The track layout was a simple but, a very exciting one that was made to have crazy tandem battles. The weekend started how the season first started, rain! But after only a few hours the rain was gone and the track dried up. For the last round, a few drivers made their return after missing the last couple events, such as Jeff Laflamme, Marc…
