Tokyo Auto Salon 2016: Mihama-ku, Chiba. Japan

TAS 2016 was a bit of a renaissance for me. It was the 10th consecutive time I’d visited the event since arriving in Japan in 2005. And whilst I wished for things to be totally different, I am glad that much of what I’ve come to know and love hasn’t changed at all, whereas many other things have undergone transformation. That’s not to suggest the Tokyo Auto Salon is stale in any way, but you do get used to the rhythm and tempo of the event after having visited it so many times. The same faces, the same names —…

DMCC Round 4 2010: Montmagny, QC

The Autodrome Montmagny in Montmagny, Quebec was the site for the 4th round of DMCC action in the East. Is their anything better than a full day of all out drifting? Yes, there is and it’s called NIGHT DRIFTING at Round-4 of the Eastern DMCC Castrol Edge Championship being held at the Montmagny Autodrome near Quebec City. Taking first place was Matt…

The major difference from last year - the event's car show competition cars were all displayed indoors between 2 buildings (100+ cars total). I, personally, enjoyed walking between the buildings (40ft; outdoor); the theme and style of each indoor section/building were more evident with this outdoor area of walking space. It was like walking into 2 different shows. Enter the larger of the 2 buildings, your ears…

Honda Yuasa Racing BTCC Battle Moves to Donington Park

The fight for the 2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Donington Park this weekend and Honda Yuasa Racing Team drivers Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden are aiming to be in the thick of the action. Reigning BTCC champion Neal gave the new NGTC Honda Civic a win on its debut at Brands Hatch earlier this month and currently lies second in the drivers’ standings. That means he will have to carry 36kg of success ballast in the first Donington race, but the three-time title winner believes he will still be in the fight. “We’re expecting more of…
