Description

Formula DRIFT Returns to Road Atlanta Home of the Inaugural Formula DRIFT Event Back in 2004.

Road Atlanta opened in 1970 and was home of the inaugural Formula DRIFT event back in 2004. The 2.54-mile, 12-turn track is owned by Panoz Motor Sports Group and hosts many events throughout the year including Formula DRIFT.

Utilizing Turns 10A, and 10B of the road course, cars slide sideways through the turns and then hit the loop before the bridge and back towards Turns 10B, 10A, and then ends dramatically by drifting uphill on an incline.

Round 2: Road to the Championship at Road Atlanta will be one of the most anticipated events of the season. The event will be spread between 2 days of drifting action. Drivers are tested on the fast entry and tight turns of the road course and will have to prove that they have what it takes to reach the podium.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2014: Mihama-ku, Chiba, Japan

The Tokyo Auto Salon 2014 was, at least for me, a great weekend filled with all manners of entertainment and spectacle. Whether you enjoyed it or not came down to how you viewed the weekend or, more specifically, what you were looking for. In my case, as always, this meant going in with an open mind to uncover some of the gems the show was bound to hold. This also meant getting there before anyone else did, so I found myself prowling the halls on the Thursday set up, one night before the floodgates opened to the press and general…

Formula Round 6 Drift 2010: Sonoma, CA

Formula DRIFT entered Sonoma, CA for Round 6: Point of Impact with Vaughn Gittin, Jr. taking his second victory of the season and increasing his points lead heading into the last round of the season on October 8-9 at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.“It was another great event weekend to what has already been an intensely competitive season,” said Jim Liaw, president and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “With the championship on the line and only 1 event remaining in the season we are excited to see who will come out on top.” The competition was fierce and made for another…

Tokyo Auto Salon: Japan

As I head into my 40’s, I’m reminded that not only does perspective matter but also experience. This will be my 12th year covering the Tokyo Auto Salon (and the third with PASMAG) and I’m happy to say it never gets boring, regardless of age. Sure, I’m a little wearier than I used to be but there’s a clean and pure energy to the biggest automotive show on the planet that hits you like a spirit bomb when you trudge down the cold corridors of the entrance and emerge within the frenzied and buzzing halls beneath. It’s impossible not to…
