Tokyo Auto Salon 2013

January 11-13, 2013 Chiba, Japan Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 280,000 people, 800 cars, four days, 12 hours of sleep, one M6 convertible, 73 cans of Red Bull, and 3,000 shots later, the curtain, mercifully, fell on the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon. As with any Tokyo Auto Salon, it’s sensory overload from the minute you get in to the minute you leave. This year we had a ton of spectacles to witness inside and outside the Makuhari Messe in Chiba and an indication of how much bigger 2013 was, was in the opening of the North hall, which has remained…

Pioneer DJ Art Mix

The Old Union Bank in downtown Los Angeles played house to the annual Pioneer DJ Art Mix event this passed October. Against the backdrop of the Los Angeles Art Walk, which draws 10 to 15 thousand people annually, custom-designed art pieces using Pioneer's CDJ-2000nexus multi player as the canvas were auctioned off to support the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. All proceeds went toward improving music education and programs in public schools across the U.S. Bids started at only $500, and considering the Pioneer CDJ-2000nexus Professional Multi Player retails for more than two-grand, many brought in much more than a…

Importfest 2011: Toronto, ON

Yes it’s true; Import Fest is back in full glory! As the longest running tuner show in North America, it is no surprise that this year’s event would shatter records both in terms of stats and quality of vehicles showcased. The Toronto Metro Convention Centre once again played host to the first of two city stops (the second being Montreal on October 1st) for what is tagged, as Canada’s Biggest and Baddest Car Show and we couldn’t agree more. A record number of over 15,000 people attended the one-day iFest event with roughly another 35,000 passing through the downtown Toronto…
