Formula Drift Round 4 2013: Wall, NJ

Formula D ripped into the Wall, NJ 1/8 mile oval course for the fourth stop on their 2013 10th anniversary tour. Although the speeds at wall are the slowest of the entire circuit, the transition off of the 30-degree banking makes the track one of the most technical to drive. This year’s configuration was changed up slightly, eliminating the crossover through the middle that was often bumpy. Qualifying yielded several familiar names at the top including a Falken 1-2 sweep with top qualifier Justin Pawlak in his Falken Tire Ford Mustang and Darren McNamara close behind in his Falken Tire…

Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo 2015: Niagara Falls, Ontario

Tom Wilga and the staff at Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo were on Mother Nature's "good list" this year at Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Words and Photography by Randi Bentia Historically, Tom's charity event hasn't seen the best weather. A week prior to the 5th annual Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo, it seemed that the weather had the same plans with a forecast of "80% chance of rain" for the weekend in Niagara Falls. Then after a chilly night in Southern Ontario, the clouds broke free the morning of show-day to allow the sun to shine on the…

Tokyo Auto Salon 2013

January 11-13, 2013 Chiba, Japan Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 280,000 people, 800 cars, four days, 12 hours of sleep, one M6 convertible, 73 cans of Red Bull, and 3,000 shots later, the curtain, mercifully, fell on the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon. As with any Tokyo Auto Salon, it’s sensory overload from the minute you get in to the minute you leave. This year we had a ton of spectacles to witness inside and outside the Makuhari Messe in Chiba and an indication of how much bigger 2013 was, was in the opening of the North hall, which has remained…

CES 2016: Las Vegas, NV

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was a different beast altogether this year. Last year’s show saw me lost in literal seas of people, being marooned near some HDTV from Malaysia and having to find my way across to the island of car audio and new car technologies. This year, however, it seems there was some memo sent out by CES organizers that not everyone and their grandmother could attend. Walking in through those familiar Las Vegas Convention Center doors, I paused to enjoy the fact that I could breathe my own air and no one else’s. I could walk. I…
