Spring Break Nationals 2017 Spring Turkey Run main

By popular demand the 31st Annual Spring Break Nationals Car Audio Expo will be held at the Daytona International Speedway on March 24-26, 2017 in conjunction with the Spring Turkey Run, (STR) a car show that draws in excess of 15,000 consumers. According to SBN Founder Paul Papadeas, “This move makes a lot of sense. We’ve been talking about doing this for years. With our industry’s demographics skewing to a more mature audience and further away from the youthful male, STR is a great place to breed consumer awareness. Car guys in attendance from the southeast region and beyond come to Daytona with vehicles of all types; customs, classics, muscle cars, hot rods and tuners as well. The Spring Turkey Run event always took place one week after SBN and consistently draws the crowds that are now who we see in our retail stores”.

The event is a three-day exhibit (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) with 2 days (Saturday and Sunday) dedicated to Soundoff competitions. Manufacturers interested in exhibiting Sound Quality will take front row ahead of the Blue Garages on a Speedway main drag. IASCA and MECA Sound Q Competitions will happen in this same area. The SPL Manufacturers will be positioned in the infield on Turn 2 amid the SPL competition area. All factions will exhibit to the folks that frequented SBN as well as the hordes of spectators of the Turkey Run Car Show. “We’ll still keep the extreme SPL noise in check” cites Papadeas, “but SPL will be on the grass in the infield so that will assist in muting extreme sound. “This is a golden opportunity to finally reach more consumers than we would ever hope to see at any SBN of late”

IASCA, MECA, dB Drag Racing and ISPLL will be onsite hosting the Competition Season Kickoff. Their SPL competitions will be located in the infield at Daytona International Speedway at Turn 2, while the Blue Garages next to Pit Row will host Sound Quality competition vehicles registered in IASCA and MECA Sound Quality competitions.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2011

The unofficial kick-off to the season always starts with Tokyo Auto Salon where we report on what the considered hot in the JDM market. Three massive halls at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center are jammed with row upon row of insane builds from the intense to the absolutely ridiculous! But beyond the cars themselves are a wealth of activities, new parts to shop for and of course hundreds of JDM hotties wearing next to nothing.     For 2011, what we expected is coming true and truth be told we’re not thrilled about some of the trends. Dozens of…

SQOLOGY Winter Warm-Up 2017: Clarksville, TN

In November of 2016, SQOLOGY expanded its vision of car audio meets to reach a broader audience and set out to hold at least a dozen car audio meets in 2017, the first of which was successfully held this past weekend in Clarksville, TN at Audio Specialists. It requires some risk to host an event in February, on Super Bowl Sunday, with commitments required months in advance. However, the weather cooperated and 'SQOLOGY Winter Warm-Up' drew more than 50 individuals with over 20 vehicles competing in the sound quality event sanctioned by MECA and IASCA. Audio Specialists operates two locations,…

Hot Summer Nights 2011

Delayed one week due to Hurricane Irene, September 3rd proved to be the perfect date for eXquisite Car and Truck Club’s show, Hot Summer Nights held at Quaker Steak and Lube in Fredericksburg, VA.  The parking lot was packed full of imports, domestics, mini trucks, lifted trucks, donks, performance, and style.  Nightfall is when everyone really started to shine with their custom lighting. Some of the highlights of the show included a 1000+hp Dodge Magnum whose custom graphics were as fierce as its power; a bagged and wide-bodied Dodge Charger with a suede interior; a bagged Chevy S-10 with a…
