They were discussing a SEMA build and after realizing how unusual it would be to cut up a brand new Camaro, Julia had an idea. “Hell, use my Camaro, I haven’t even driven it yet” she said. And so the project got underway.

The crew over at Status in Rockwall, TX wanted to create a SEMA project that would get noticed. The owners of the shop, Rich and Julia Stokes had to think outside the box and carefully choose the right vehicle and modifications before anyone e [ … ]

Enthusiast Calvin Eng is the owner of this M3 project and the brains behind ATI. Although he originally picked up this M3 to be a daily driver, it has spent most of its life in the shop under the knife with modifications. For now, there isn’t much that the 420hp 4.0L V8 leaves to be desired.

For the money, there isn’t much that can beat the style, prestige and performance of a BMW M3. With hot styling and all kinds of appeal, the aftermarket has pounced on platform with plenty of performance parts. The team at Auto Tech Interiors (ATI) wanted to make this particular M3 a rolling sho [ … ]

Almost 8 years, 3 full builds, 4 different system configurations, 3 different paint jobs and hundreds of late nights later, Lynch decided to take matters into his own hands and start over again, his way!

Although most automotive enthusiasts enjoy customizing their cars, it takes a truly determined individual to dedicate the massive amount of time and resources needed to build the vehicle of their dreams. Enthusiast Fred Lynch has been obsessed with building his 2001 Volkswagen Passat into a pers [ … ]

Owner Andrei Tsaran decided to take this 2004 Subaru STi and completely reinvent how it got around the race track - fast. Tsaran decided that the STi had great aftermarket support and would achieve the goals he wanted on the track. He had owned an Integra, an S2000 and an FC3s RX-7 before but this was his first experiment with turbo awd.

Back in the day, getting a hold of performance parts for your tuner car was not easy. Sure there were domestic speed shops that may or may not have catered to the new market but the distribution channels for aftermarket parts in the tuner world just didn’t exist. As the popularity of tuner cars co [ … ]

GT Motorsports (GTM), based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA have been rewriting the rules of Z performance with stroker kits and turbos pushing the VQ engines into the quadruple digits, and were ready to help Mixon realize his dream. “I’ve always wanted a super car, but really wanted to build one myself."

Although the Nissan 350Z is among one of the most potent and popular tuner cars out there, the revamped and redesigned 370Z has managed to make a great car even better! The aftermarket support and potential is undeniable for the 350Z, which means it was only a matter of time until we started spott [ … ]

If you are a long-time reader of PAS, then you might recognize this car from a feature several years ago. Indeed – this is the same ride, but it has been given the once-over to make it new and fresh so it can go back on the road for another couple years.

Now here’s an interesting perspective on a corporate demo car – a feature story written by one of the people who helped bring the project to fruition. As part of the Marketing Team at Clarion Canada Inc, ensuring our small fleet of demo cars is always at the ready for a dealer event or show is jus [ … ]

Defending a title or your reputation is never easy. Enthusiasts wondered what Nissan could possibly do to with the 370Z in the shadow of the now-legendary 350Z. Not to mention, the struggle to get any press coverage for the car following the media onslaught of the GT-R. While both of these [ … ]

The defining aspect of this Final Konnexion kit is that it takes cues from the Nismo Z-Tune GT-R and dramatically exaggerates them. The massive flared Nismo-esque fenders with pressure relief vents bear similarities to the limited Z-Tune, which consists of only 30 units in the whole world.

No matter how many times I go to Japan, there is one element of their car culture that never gets old. And that element is: seeing Skylines! Hell, I own a Skyline but I still never get bored of hearing the growl of an RB echoing off the buildings in the downtown Tokyo metropolis. Sometimes [ … ]

“I know my rotaries” says Mad Mike “So the only problems were waiting for parts to come from around the globe. It kind of slowed the build time down, but we still made our short time frame of 6 months and within the budget of $75,000USD.”

Ask any of the staff around here and they might admit they’re a bit spoiled by the experiences they’ve gone through. Whether it is hot feature cars, insane events or even the smoking models we have to work with, the bar is continually raised. You have to really knock us out to get noticed versus y [ … ]

Block however, has the total package with a micro compact, all wheel drive and 650 ponies clawing at the ground. With a build like this, it will be difficult to top, even if they do come close. Obviously, there isn’t much Fiesta left in it aside from the headlights and some old sheet metal.

Seem like only yesterday I was on the phone with Ken Block putting together an article. Back in 2004, Ken was hard at work putting together a trio of Subaru STi for the upcoming Gumball 3000 event. The move marked a long and successful relationship between the two and the proliferation of Rally an [ … ]

Yuen's current rides include an Infiniti M45 and this particular GS430. Now that the GS is complete, he plans to add a Lexus LS460 to the fleets and roll like the president wherever he may go.

There is something to be said about dedication to the game. If you’re like most people when they come up against obstacles or financial challenges, they give up and move on. It happens all too often in the Sport Compact game where one person gets the stick from a shot, blows a car up then disappea [ … ]

Alright, here’s the deal – we see a load of S2000s here at PAS. Almost too many, thanks to the prices of these high-revving roadsters dropping dramatically in recent years. Many of them are predictable with their CE28Ns and J’s Racing aero and a variety of knockoff carbon fiber hoods. Of course, w [ … ]

With aspirations of building a Time Attack car, Lee started with the 2.4L world engine. The turbo was upgraded with an ATP Garrett GT3076R regulated by a TiAL 38mm wastegate. Air is pulled through a custom short ram intake into JMB intercooler piping and an MPx 62mm throttle body attached to a Form & Function manifold.

If the enthusiast culture demands it, it will come to market. Since the 1950’s, automotive designers have been following the trends put forth by the aftermarket and car customizers. Trends like quad headlights, louvers and hood scoops are all trends the American car companies lifted from th [ … ]

“Cars have always been my hobby and my passion,” said Martin. “I wanted to challenge myself and bought this rotted out 1949 F-1 from a farmer’s field in 1994. I chose this truck because the media only really covered old Chevys and I wanted to put a Ford in the spotlight by being radical and different.”

Since this particular Ford truck was made before any of the staff here was even born, we were somewhat amazed by what we were looking at. Anything pre-1970s and we are lost for words when asked about the history of vehicles like this. When confronted with an unknown platform, it is time to ask aro [ … ]

Conrad Grunewald knows all about the capabilities of domestics. He once campaigned a C5 Corvette, but has now shifted gears and built a stunning 2010 Camaro. With the support of new sponsor Hankook Tires, Grunewald had a world of opportunity to put the best product on the car and ensure the team was well equipped to be competitive.

Who knew what kind of twists and turns drifting would have made over the last decade. It went viral and grew from an obscure parking lot event to a major motorsports force in a few short years. Drifting demos put crowds into a frenzy at major open-wheel races like Long Beach and the Grand Prix of [ … ]

Built entirely in-house by Scosche, the company had full control over how the project would develop. When projects like these are subcontracted, chances are there will be elements that need to be reworked since the job wasn’t done to spec the first time. Since this vehicle would be used for tradeshows and dealer events to show off the REALM line to potential buyers, it had to be an ultra-clean install and the sound fidelity had to impress even the most discerning car audiophile.Nothing really influences the younger generations today more than pop culture. How they act, what they wear and, most vital for the health of the economy, what they buy is all determined by what is popular on TV, YouTube or has gone viral. Being relevant in this way was an important consideration fo [ … ]
