A textbook example of someone living the hybrid life is Coung Phan, who hails from the sleepy town of Hagerstown, MD with a population of roughly 39,000. There is not much of a car scene there, but with mags like PAS at the local book store and the wealth of info on the internet, he started fantasizing at a young age.

Living in a small town drives people to do one of two things; accept it and make a family there or bounce quicktime as soon as they are of legal age. It isn’t uncommon for many, young, country folk to want to get out there and experience the world, p [ … ]

“I previously had an Infiniti G35 project that I completed building a while ago and was beginning to get bored with modifying it,” admits Tran. “I heard about the GT-R being released to the North American market and instantly decided that I needed to have one. The very next day I went into my local Nissan dealership and laid down my deposit. I had to wait about a year before Nissan gave me a call to come and pick up my new GT-R but it was worth every second.”

There is nothing more refreshing than partnering up with people who can get results. In an industry full of dreamers notorious for over-promising and under-delivering, you tend to side with the people who can make good on their promises. When Mike Tr [ … ]

As if the exciting Genesis Coupe hadn’t done enough to improve the Hyundai brand image already, Millen took another Hyundai powerplant and show-horned it into the nimble FR chassis! As you can see, the real bold move (or crazy idea) was to totally skip trying to make engine fit in up front and completely re-engineer the entire car to accommodate the powerful V8.

When a plan comes together, the results speak for themselves. We had all seen the teasers for Rhys Millen’s Genesis Coupe build in the weeks leading up to SEMA, but we were all unaware at how he would cap it all off. The fabrication wor [ … ]

Rewind back to 2001 and there wasn’t much to choose from in the turbo AWD market. Well, there was actually nothing for sale in the North American market unless you were going to spring for a 996 twin turbo. The Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX was gone [ … ]

Checkmate: GOTO Racing's 2009 Nissan GT-R

The reaction towards Nissan’s GT-R super car is still nothing short of impressive. In stock form, the powerful GT-R is already explosive, but in tuned form it’s proven itself unstoppa [ … ]

The whole ensemble was tuned by a Technosquare remapped ECU, which translated into over double the factory horsepower. Of course only a man’s clutch would handle that and the task was given to an Exedy triple carbon clutch. A Cusco 1.5-way rear LSD was also added in addition to a 3.91 final drive from a 350Z.

Some say it looks like a shoe, some say it looks like a bathtub. I doubt Infiniti designers were discussing the profile of a Ronald McDonald shoe or the merits of taking a bubble bath while this car was being conceived. I’ve always thought the FX s [ … ]

The mission for 2008 was simple, put the project together in record time and tour it around HIN. Scion supplied the xD with precious time left before it was hurried off to a series of events but in the off-season, PASMAG had some time to spend on rethinking the project.

As part of our rolling Scion showcase, our project received a number of upgrades and tweaks. Whether it’s the design of the project, the prototype wheels or the new audio system, the Project Scion is barely recognizable from last year. The mission fo [ … ]
