Formula Drift Round 1 2013: Long Beach, CA

Formula Drift kicked off their 10th season of drifting in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 20,000 people in Long Beach, California. With several substantial changes to rules, sponsorships and cars in the off-season, fans and teams alike anxiously awaited to see how things would shake out at the only competitive course in North America. One of the biggest changes was the new qualifying format which determines the top 16 qualifying drivers after the first run and the second 16 drivers after the second run which lead to some of the familiar names near the top of the…

SEMA 2015: The Raddest Things We Saw at SEMA This Year

As always, PASMAG scoured the show floor of the SEMA Show to find some of the coolest things on wheels in existence. From the pre-opening media day to SEMA Ignited on the last night, here are just a few of the things we thought were pretty awesome this year! THE REVIVAL OF RUSTY SLAMMINGTONWe all thought it was gone for good, that old chopped up, rusted and body-scraping BMW E28. The famed Rusty Slammington was the victim of an unfortunate garage fire and the world of stance had a moment of silence. A few years ago, a couple teaser images…

Redline Time Attack: Round 9

As the 2010 Redline Time Attack season winds down, our second to last event is now in the books. The event was held at the famous Infineon Raceway (formerly Sears Point) in the heart of wine country, Sonoma, CA. While the normal talk in the region is about Cabernet, Merlot, and fine dining, the hot topic around the Infineon Raceway paddock was rain. Yes, there was rain, and lots of it. It rained virtually non-stop this weekend and teams were struggling to learn how to go fast in it. Rain does very funny things to race results. Front wheel…

CES 2016: Las Vegas, NV

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was a different beast altogether this year. Last year’s show saw me lost in literal seas of people, being marooned near some HDTV from Malaysia and having to find my way across to the island of car audio and new car technologies. This year, however, it seems there was some memo sent out by CES organizers that not everyone and their grandmother could attend. Walking in through those familiar Las Vegas Convention Center doors, I paused to enjoy the fact that I could breathe my own air and no one else’s. I could walk. I…
