The Interview

PAS: Where are you from? And, are you currently living there? If not, where are you currently living?

Maya Michelle Rew: I was born in Tokyo, Japan, I grew up in Carpinteria, CA but I currently reside in Hollywood!

PAS: How long have you been modeling for?

Maya Michelle Rew: I have been modeling for about four years now.

PAS: How did you get your start in modeling?

Maya Michelle Rew: I originally moved to LA to work as a hairstylist. When I realized it wasn't for me, I started gogo dancing and from there it lead to car shows & photoshoots.

PAS: What’s the best part of being a model?

Maya Michelle Rew: I love getting dolled up & creating a beautiful image for the boys …and girls (laughs).

PAS: What would you say are your strengths as a model?

Maya Michelle Rew: I am one of the rare Asian models with a bigger behind so that usually sets me aside from other models I'm catergorized with.

PAS: Describe yourself in three words or statements.

Maya Michelle Rew: Short, sweet, sexy

PAS: What are some of you modeling highlights so far?

Maya Michelle Rew: I've gotten to travel all over the US including Atlanta, Chicago & Hawaii as well as beautiful Vancouver, Canada. I've also met a lot of people I look up to & admire.

PAS: What is your best beauty secret?

Maya Michelle Rew: Being a cosmetologist, I take really good care of my hair. I have way too many tips to write down but one is to use sulfate-free shampoo & conditioner to keep your hair from product build-up & drying out.

PAS: How do you keep in such great shape?

Maya Michelle Rew: I've been a dancer my whole life. The gym definitely is not my scene so luckily gogo dancing on the regular keeps me fit.

PAS: What do you most value in your friends?

Maya Michelle Rew: That they would do anything for me & are always there when I need them. Oh, and that they keep me entertained!

PAS: Do you have any birthmarks, scars or tattoos?

Maya Michelle Rew: I have 4 butterfly tattoos & a the Japanese symbol for "beauty" on my back. I do have a birthmark on the back of my left leg. I used to think it was dirt when I was little (laughs).

PAS: Do you have any pets? What kind?

Maya Michelle Rew: I have a little Papillion / Chihuahua doggy named Cookie. She's my baby!

Maya Michelle Rew: It would probably be Beyonce. She's Brains, beauty & killer dance moves!
