AEM Changes Names of Infinity ECUs for Easier Identification by Model Type

AEM is renaming its Infinity ECUs to accommodate the current and future expansion of its models, however, part numbers for existing Infinity ECUs will remain the same.

"Going forward we realized that our current naming system was not appropriate for this rapid model expansion, so we developed new model classifications under which all current and future Infinity ECUs will be categorized," says AEM President Greg Neuwirth. "This change serves to allow for both future Infinity model expansion and to eliminate confusion once the naming system is adopted by everyone."

INFINITY SERIES 7 ECUs - Formerly Infinity-8/10/812

The Infinity Series 7 ECUs are made up of the formerly named Infinity-8, Infinity-10 and Infinity-812.

Series 7 Infinity ECUs are characterized by dual connectors totaling 129 pins for engines that require sophisticated electronics to control features like variable cam timing and drive-by-wire, and require the maximum amount of inputs/outputs. Four-cam variable cam timing control, dual DBW, four-wheel-speed traction control and dual on-board Lambda controllers are included, and up to 64GB logging capability is standard (100 channels up to 1,000Hz/channel).

INFINITY SERIES 5 ECUs - Formerly Infinity-6/8h

The Infinity Series 5 ECUs are made up of the formerly named Infinity-6 and Infinity-8h.

Series 5 Infinity ECUs are characterized by a single, 80-pin connector, with either 6 ignition coil outputs and 6 low impedance injector drivers (Infinity 506), or 8 ignition coil outputs and 8 saturated injector drivers (Infinity 508). Infinity Series 5 ECUs are designed for high performance, late model vehicles, late model crate engines and late model Powersports vehicles that employ sophisticated electronics like variable cam timing and drive-by-wire but do not need the maximum amount of inputs/outputs. Two-cam variable cam timing control, one DBW, two-wheel-speed traction control and one on-board Lambda controller are included, and up to 64GB logging capability is standard (100 channels up to 1,000Hz/channel).

INFINITY SERIES 3 ECUs - Coming Soon

The new Infinity Series 3 features a single, 73-pin connector and is ideal for basic crate engines and marine applications, as well for as upgrading engines currently using MEFI based systems.
