The 2013 Formula Drift season is set to kick off April 12-13 on the Streets of Long Beach and Team Nitto Tire is locked and loaded in their quest to win the series championship. Headlining the charge will be Nitto’s largest offseason acquisition to date, former series champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. Piloting the Monster Energy / Nitto Tire Ford Racing RTR Mustang, Gittin is known for his aggressive, foot to the floor, big smoke driving style and will be gunning for his second career FD championship. Vaughn will also head to China to compete in the World Drift Series, as well as participate in select competition and demonstration events in Europe. Entering his third season for Nitto Tire is Matt Powers, driver of the Nitto Tire Nissan S14. During the offseason, Powers traveled abroad and took home the prestigious 2012 Red Bull Drifters championship. Not to be forgotten is Chelsea DeNofa, driver of the BC Racing / Nitto Tire Mazda RX8 R3, who will be entering his first full season with Nitto Tire after making the switch midway through the 2012 season.
