Unitronic has released ECU Performance Software for the 2025-and-newer Audi RS3 in North America, supporting models equipped with the 2.5TFSI EVO DXH engine and new Bosch MG1CS164 ECU.
Available in Stage 1, Stage 1+, and Stage 2 configurations, Unitronic says its Stage 2 software can produce up to 638 horsepower and 534 lb-ft of torque on E85, representing gains of up to 201 horsepower and 152 lb-ft over stock.
The new software also supports Unitronic’s UniFLEX flex-fuel system, allowing the ECU to automatically adjust for ethanol content ranging from gasoline to E85 without requiring an ECU reflash when switching between fuels. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can also be monitored through Unitronic’s UniE85 Manager app and the RS3’s Virtual Cockpit.
Unitronic’s optional Advanced Features (UAF) package adds user-adjustable functions through its mobile app, including adjustable standing launch control, rolling launch control, exhaust overrun settings, exhaust flap control, an immobilizer function, and valet mode.
Before the software can be installed, the RS3’s Bosch MG1CS164 ECU must first be unlocked. Unitronic currently performs this process exclusively at its headquarters, requiring the ECU to be sent in. The company says unlocks are typically completed the same day they are received. Once unlocked, owners can use Unitronic’s UniCONNECT+ system to install or update compatible ECU software through the vehicle’s OBD-II port from home.
The software is currently available for 2025-and-newer North American Audi RS3 models with the 2.5TFSI EVO DXH engine, with support for additional markets planned.
Unitronic notes that once the Bosch MG1CS164 ECU has been unlocked, it cannot be reflashed back to the stock calibration without overwriting the unlock.
