Atlanta, GA – Hybrid Audio Technologies-equipped vehicles “one-two sweep” two classes, and win others at the International Auto Sound Challenge Association North American Finals
On 22 March 2010, almost exactly one year ago today, Hybrid Audio Technologies announced key victories in the IASCA North American Championships. This year’s IASCA Finals was held on the weekend of 19-20 March 2011, and it was proven once again: North America’s finest-sounding vehicles by organized car audio competition standard are those which use Hybrid Audio Technologies products. The results notably included two “one – two sweeps” of classes by competitors using Hybrid Audio Technologies products as their sole front-stage speaker brand. A sweep of the first and second place spots in the Rookie class by competitors using Hybrid Audio Technologies products was earned by Louis Chouinard (1st place), and Lee Torres (2nd place). A sweep of the first and second place spots in the difficult Ultimate class by competitors using Hybrid Audio Technologies products was earned by Larry Woolacott (1st place), and John Marsh (2nd place). Other key placements included David Seal in second place in Amateur and a first-place win in the Pro class by John Sketoe, Hybrid Audio’s second-consecutive year to win this title under heavy opposing competition. In addition to the SQi wins and placements, Larry Woolacott also went on to win the 2-seat “sound only” class known as SQC2, also in heavy opposing competition. Hybrid Audio-equipped cars competed in six of eight available classes, and won five of the six.
Scott Buwalda brought his Nissan Silvia Spec. GT-R to the show to back-up his 2010 results with a best-of-show score, and the win in the Expert Two-Seat class, IASCA’s highest-level SQi division and class. Buwalda beat his previously recorded world-record score of 921.5 points in 2010 with a 2011 score of 993.5 points, the highest score ever recorded in organized car audio competition, at any time, and in any format. With the impending rule changes imposed by IASCA to level the playing field, Buwalda’s score of 993.5 points will forever be memorialized as the highest SQi score of all time.
David Edwards, Team Captain for Team Hybrids, the official competition organization of Hybrid Audio Technologies commented “I would like to point out that there are other manufacturers claiming key wins and placements at the show with press releases and photos of competitors holding trophies. Make no mistake Hybrid Audio-equipped cars won more North American Championships than all other speaker manufacturers combined.” Edwards continued “it was complete domination.”
“Naturally I am elated on how cars equipped with Hybrid Audio Technologies product fared at the North American Championships” noted Scott Buwalda, founder and CEO of Hybrid Audio Technologies. “It’s the sixth year in a row that we have witnessed this complete domination. Thanks go out to the competitors that voluntarily choose to use our products, and the hard work and effort they put into their cars to make them the best in all of North America.”
