Two of the best-known names in transatlantic show promotion have joined forces to create a US-based show that will appeal to ALL petrolheads - transcending all marques, scenes and styles.
NOLA Speed and Style will be held at the stunning facility of NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans on October 17-18, 2015 and promises to change the US show calendar forever.
The show is the joint brainchild of SoWo legend Matt Bounds in the US and Forge Motorsport’s Peter Miles in the UK. SoWo, hosted in Helen, Georgia, is famed in the VAG calendar as the ultimate laid-back get together for VW Group cars, whilst Forge’s now legendary Action Day at Castle Combe in the UK has become THE go-to event for those wanting to experience ten-tenths track action, mixed with the most eclectic array of historic, retro race, drift and modified cars on the UK calendar. The ethos for NOLA Speed and Style is simple; take the best elements from these two superb shows, mix them together in one of the best motorsport facilities on the planet, sprinkle in a little sunshine and entertainment – and voila!
The S&S team specifically chose NOLA after an exhaustive venue search, simply down to its incredible facilities, meaning that every car and owner will get the chance to show out, whether you want to spend the whole day polishing your paint – or flat out on the lockstops and rev-limiter. It’s all up for grabs at NOLA!
The 2.75 mile Road Course will be open all day to allow guests to push their car to the limit in total safety, or for those that want to get up close and technical, the 7 Acre Skidpan will be running Autocross and Drifting sessions throughout the event.
Fancy a break from all of that tire smoke and noise? Inside there’s 15,000 square feet of the highest quality show cars, and endless more rows of trophy-quality rides outside. Like the Forge Action Day, all scenes and marques are welcome, so expect to see a truly diverse line up of exceedingly cool cars.
Those looking to settle an old score wheel-to-wheel might want to take advantage of the largest karting track in North America, or if you’re in the mood to shave off a few tenths here and there, instructors will be on hand in the Autocross arena to help you hone your car craft and trim your times. Ride and Drive experiences will also be happening out on track to let you try something different. Don’t try following the lines of the NoDrift Drift Team though… those guys are mental!
The guest list is already looking promising with VW of America attending to showcase their latest collection, as well as the Porsche Club of New Orleans gracing the tarmac with a corral full of Stuttgart’s finest work. Kleen Freaks will also be on hand for the whole weekend too, dishing out great products and advice in equal measure.
And then there’s beautiful New Orleans itself. NOLA is only 15 minutes from the ever so popular French Quarter, with some of the best hotels and restaurants just 3-5 miles away. The event team has even brought in Bouncy Castles for the kids too – so you can bring the whole clan, guilt free!
