Event Coverage MECA

The Choctaw Event Center in Durant, OK hosted the Autofest Points Series Final on the weekend of August 7-8th. Event organizer Tony Goza pulled out all the stops to entertain 110 vehicles at the MECA 3X Triple Points SPL, SQL, and Show & Shine contests. Sound Creations, the local 12-volt audio, video, and security specialty store owned by Goza, sponsored the awards and orchestrated the event.

Mark Eldridge (Team MBL Sound/JL Audio) won the Best of Best of Show trophy and Points Series Championship and took home over $4000 in prize money. He won the Zapco SQL Best of Show award with high scores in Sound Quality, Install, and RTA Freq Out.

Lumel Valadez (TX) scored the highest SPL score in Radical X2 with 156.4 dB and won $500. Ty Kirkpatrick (AR) scored 122.9 dB for the Drive-by SPL Parade Best of Show.

Shawn Pergande won the Show & Shine Best of Show with his immaculate 1999 Pontiac Trans Am WS6.
