Luke Fink Assembles Nissan Patrol x 370Z Drift Build

Prolific Australian drifter and YouTuber Luke Fink has embarked on another wild project, with a significant dosage of Aussie madness. This time around, he's assembling what he calls the world's first drift Patrol, mating the upper body of a Nissan GU Patrol to the lower body of a Nissan 370Z. We have a few episodes of the build series to admire while it comes together, with more on the horizon as the build reaches its final drift-ready state. Knowing Fink, this thing will be a party on wheels.

For the uninitiated, the Nissan Patrol GU, also known as the Y61 chassis, was produced from 1997 to 2016 and is renowned for its rugged off-road capabilities. Available in both short-wheelbase three-door and long-wheelbase five-door variants, the Patrol GU featured a durable ladder frame chassis, solid axles, and robust suspension systems. It offered a variety of engines, including the notable 4.8-liter TB48DE petrol engine and the 3.0-liter ZD30DDTi turbo-diesel engine, each capable powerplants catering to different performance needs. Celebrated for its reliability and toughness, the Patrol GU gained popularity in regions like Australia, the Middle East, and Africa, serving both as a family vehicle and for more demanding performance applications.
