For the sixth and final stop of PASMAG’s Tuning 365 Show Tour, over 150 custom vehicles registered to compete for the ultimate award.
It’s been 897 days since the Formula DRIFT PRO Championship slid sideways on the Streets of Long Beach. On its return, fans in the grandstands enjoyed perfect California weather and watched the drivers revive their muscle memory of the Long Beach street course that sits alongside the Pacific Ocean.
Fans were also treated with a custom vehicle showcase curated by PASMAG, which included Sal Arriaga’s purple and yellow livery 2015 Subaru Sti, Scott Dean’s Team Hybrid 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo and Aaron Hildebrand’s wide and low red 2015 Chevy Camaro.
Over 150 custom vehicles registered for Tuning 365 and competed for one an exclusive Editor’s Choice awards, and PASMAG Features Coordinator, Ricky Chu, and Contributor, Mikey Dang, were on-site to help our Editor, Adam Gordon, with the task of selecting the award winners at this event.
The first few Editor’s Choice awards were handed to Abdelkrim Sakouti for his 1991 Nissan 300ZX, Kelvin Hsiu for his 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Jason Helmick for his 2015 Scion FR-S. Formula DRIFT PRO driver, Dylan Hughes, selected this event’s Driver’s Choice award, and ultimately gave it to Brian VandeHei for his 1995 Nissan 240SX.
"I chose the S14 because of the great clean build, the rear wing, and the awesome colour,” Hughes stated.
Larry Chen has a talented-eye when it comes to spotting and shooting custom vehicles, so it was no surprise that he chose Joseph Zamora’s LS swapped 1995 Nissan 240SX in the Larry’s Pick award category.
And finally, with a total of 382 votes, the fans voted for Nick Lozada and his 1981 Toyota Starlet kp61 as the winner of the Tuner Battlegrounds #TBGLIVE award category and online/social competition!
