Perfect weather was had for the 32nd annual Spring Break Nationals show in Daytona Beach on March 24th and 25th, 2018. More than 150 competitors filled the sound quality and SPL lanes for IASCA, MECA, dB Drag and ISPLL car audio competitions.
“It was great to see many veterans of our sport coming out to support the show” said Moe Sabourin, Director of Operations for IASCA Worldwide, “There were also a lot of new faces in both the SPL and SQ lanes, which was exciting. I feel the best part of the show was watching many veterans assisting the newcomers, helping them to tune vehicles or just giving them advice on how to succeed in competition; this is what will help our industry grow, veterans passing on their knowledge to the next breed of car audio competitor. Competition is fun and rewarding, but education is critical for our future success.”
Hosting SBN at the Daytona Speedway has been well received by competitors and spectators; with the SPL lanes in the turn 1 and 2 area, and the sound quality competition in the garage area, it allows for each to compete at the noise level needed.
Over 300 awards were handed out at the awards ceremony in Victory Lane and at the Gate 40 entrance. The show had to deal with a couple issues, but thanks to the passion and dedication of a great many competitors, these issues were overshadowed by their willingness to lend a hand.
Winners of the IASCA competitions will be posted on the IASCA website in the coming days. You can view the results at www.iasca.com/events.
