WaterWerks on the Green 2012

The day was excellent despite about a hour and a half of down pouring rain at the beginning of the day. By 9:30am the clouds parted and the sun came out unveiling the gorgeous back drop of Mount Si. (aka Twin Peaks, as Hollywood called it from the 1990’s hit TV show and movie) The early morning rain caused us many challenges though out the day. Soft ground turned into mud in a few places and we had to reroute traffic and create new entrances. Also the judging for the show portion of the event was re-routed out of the amphitheater. There were 100 show cars in the show this year. Mostly VW, there were also many Audis, some Porsches and event a few very nice Volvos and a Lotus Elise. Surrounding the show were 20 vendors and sponsors from up and down the West Coast. There was even a authentic German beer garden serving sausage and imported beer directly from Germany. Over 1000 sausages and 5 kegs of beer were consumed. 1500 people passed through the gates that day. The attendance numbers were a little lower that in years past, probably due to the morning rain down pour and new venue change. However, by the response after the event, we anticipate that number to be much, much larger next year. Plans for WaterWerks on the Green 2013 have already been set in motion. The property management were very pleased to have us at their property and loved the event. This was their first car show at this facility. We have ask to come back next year and move the date out a little to try and avoid any rain showers. Dates and times for 2013 will be published before the end of the year. Over all the day was a huge success. Response has been nothing but positive, along with a few suggestions on how to make entering the event smoother. For being our first year, our staff did a wonderful job and we will strive to make it better in years to come.
