Dacia Wins the 2026 Dakar Rally

Dacia has officially joined the Dakar Rally winners’ club—and Reiger Suspension is a huge part of that story. At the 2026 Dakar Rally, Nasser Al-Attiyah took the overall win in the Dacia Sandrider (#299), giving Dacia its first-ever Dakar victory and marking the 12th overall Dakar win for a vehicle running Reiger suspension.

The rally ran from January 3–17, 2026, sending over 1,000 competitors across an insane 8,000 km route through Saudi Arabia, with more than 5,000 km of timed Special Stages. From deep sand and mountain sections to wide-open high-speed stretches (up to 170 km/h / 105 mph), many teams said this year’s course was even tougher than recent editions.

Al-Attiyah’s win is also another milestone for the Qatari driver, giving him six Dakar wins overall (2011, 2015, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2026)—and five of those with Reiger suspension. He was joined by Belgian co-driver Fabian Lurquin, and the Dacia team put on a strong showing overall, with Sébastien Loeb finishing 4th (#219) and Lucas Moraes taking 7th (#223). Every Dacia Sandrider in the T1+ class runs eight Reiger 550 dampers.

Reiger-equipped Toyota Hilux entries also landed inside the top 10, and the truck class podium was stacked with Reiger hardware once again.

The cool part? KW automotive now offers Dakar-proven Reiger suspension tech for aftermarket upgrades, meaning off-road fans can get their hands on race-bred damper tech for select trucks and SUVs. More info is available at reigersuspension.com.
