TWR Returns and Promises a 600-Horsepower "Supercat" Jaguar XJS

Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), the name that once brought Jaguar to the pinnacle of motorsport at Le Mans in the late '80s, is back in action with a striking new creation: the TWR Supercat Jaguar XJS. This reimagined classic roars with roughly 600 horsepower and features a manual transmission for an authentic driving experience.

Led by Fergus Walkinshaw, Tom's son, the revived TWR has unleashed the Supercat, a V12-powered restomod that transforms the elegant Jaguar XJS into a bold, track-ready beast. The Supercat maintains the iconic silhouette of the XJS but dials up the intensity with a full carbon fiber body, aggressively flared wheel arches, a razor-sharp front splitter, and a vented hood. The rear is just as impressive, sporting a massive diffuser, a prominent ducktail spoiler, aerodisc wheels, and a side-exit exhaust that screams performance.

Under the hood lies a supercharged V12 engine delivering around 600 horsepower. While TWR hasn't disclosed the displacement, it's undoubtedly substantial. This powerhouse is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, channeling all that power to the rear wheels. The development team behind the Supercat boasts experience with automotive giants like McLaren, Ferrari, Porsche, Williams, Mercedes F1, and Renault F1.

In a nod to the 1988 Le Mans victory, only 88 units of the TWR Supercat will be produced. Deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with prices starting at approximately $282,000. TWR offers extensive customization options to make each Supercat unique, and the car will be available in major markets, including the United States.

The interior of the Supercat will be unveiled during its "dynamic debut" this summer, which sounds like it could potentially happen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This launch marks the beginning of a new era for TWR, with more exciting models anticipated in the future. Stay tuned to see what innovative machines the team at TWR will introduce next.
