Allow us to introduce you to Daniel Shimp’s yellow Acura Integra with a mid engine Volkswagen VR6 swap! It uses a Mk4 12 valve VR6 mounted using VF Mk4 mounts bolted to a custom frame cradle. Daniel had to cut out the factory frame a little to fit the engine in there. It also has 2 custom torque mounts on bottom. Power is delivered by welding VW inner axles to Nissan Altima axles, and an Altima front wheel bearing bolted to a custom plate welded to the factory Integra trailing arm. Integra parking shoes were removed and a Mk4 VW caliper on a Nissan Altima rear rotor provides an e-brake. Front coilovers are used in the rear with a custom fork the axle passes through. The rear suspension geometry is mostly unchanged besides a 3" lift on the rear strut towers to give the axles clearance. The car runs an entire Mk4 VW wiring harness from headlight to tail light including the VW cluster and a Eurocustoms-tuned factory ECU. Up front is a 15 gallon fuel cell, battery, and donut spare mounted under the fuel cell. Car also retains creature comforts like power steering, heat, power windows/sunroof, wipers, and washers.
