The Interview

PAS: Who are you?
Stanley Lopez: I’m Stanley Lopez, currently 23 years old

PAS: Where are you from?
Stanley Lopez: I was born in Philippines and was raised in the lovely island of Oahu. I was living there now I’m in Las Vegas!

PAS: Did you go to school to study photography?
Stanley Lopez: Nope, not a day in my life and I kinda refuse to haha

PAS: How did you get into photography?
Stanley Lopez: A friend of mine (David Pulga) in high school asked me to work side by side with him at a brand new studio (Fantastic Shots) back in Hawaii when just turned 16. Left after 2 ½ years and started my own portfolio. Shot 1 model posted it on MySpace, then referrals started pouring in and that’s when I officially started STANLEY LOPEZ PHOTOGRAPHY!

PAS:
How long have you been a photographer?
Stanley Lopez: 7 years

PAS: How would you describe your style?
Stanley Lopez: My style is a newly chiseled Vegas style meaning it is very focused on location and vibrant colors mixed with my techniques of lighting used where I was originally from Hawaii. This allows me to tell a story that is visually enticing and ageless in every photograph I capture.

PAS:
What sort of equipment and software do you use?
Stanley Lopez: Canon 30D, Adobe CS4, Canon all the way!! Why, because I’ve always been a big Canon fan.

PAS: Where is your favorite location to shoot pictures?
Stanley Lopez: My personal favorite location would be the beach

PAS: Are you a MAC or PC user?
Stanley Lopez: As my roommate (obeyJEF) would always say, it doesn’t matter if it’s a spoon or a rock – I’ll still get the job done…

PAS:
What has been your most memorable assignment or model to work with?
Stanley Lopez: When 2 models by the name of Heatherlyn Borja and Jamie Kunisaki had asked me to shoot for their Ultimate Grappling Magazine spreads which was my 1st International Magazine I shot for!

PAS: What would you say to other enthusiast photographers out there who aspire to become a great photographer?
Stanley Lopez: Keep shooting until you get noticed, never quit, and like I always say, “It don’t matter what kind of camera you got, it’s how you use it!”
