Toyota is leaning into nostalgia and customization with a series of unique builds based on the revived Toyota FJ Cruiser—but there’s a catch: you won’t be able to buy any of them. Instead, these one-off concepts are meant to inspire the aftermarket scene, showing just how versatile the new compact off-roader can be.
Leading the lineup is a retro-inspired build that pays tribute to classic Land Cruiser heritage, complete with vintage styling cues and rugged off-road touches. On the opposite end, Toyota also created a more street-focused version with a lowered stance and sportier details, while another concept leans fully into off-road capability with added gear for serious trail use. There’s even a camper-style setup designed for overlanding, proving the FJ platform can adapt to just about any lifestyle.
While these builds highlight the potential of the new FJ Cruiser, availability will be limited to select global markets, meaning North American enthusiasts will have to admire from afar. Still, with Toyota openly encouraging customization, it’s likely only a matter of time before similar builds start popping up in the wild.
