Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo 2015: Niagara Falls, Ontario

Tom Wilga and the staff at Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo were on Mother Nature's "good list" this year at Firemans Park in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Historically, Tom's charity event hasn't seen the best weather. A week prior to the 5th annual Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo, it seemed that the weather had the same plans with a forecast of "80% chance of rain" for the weekend in Niagara Falls. Then after a chilly night in Southern Ontario, the clouds broke free the morning of show-day to allow the sun to shine on the cars, trucks and bikes at Firemans Park. This resulted to the most successful Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo to date, raising more cat/dog food, toys and funds for the local SPCA.

Vehicle roll-in and vendor check-in went smoothly thanks to the staff and volunteers at the event. And with over 55 trophies handed-out to the competitors, many different vehicle makes and models (2-wheel and 4-wheel) competed in various classes, including our Tuner Battlegrounds #TBGLIVE specialty class which awarded Daren Singh and his 2012 Infiniti G37 with a trophy and a print feature in an upcoming issue of PASMAG for having 61% of the Popular Vote. His opponent, Mathew Barrada (1997 Nissan 240sx), showed promise throughout the entire competition, but was shy of only a few dozen votes in the Final Stage of live-fan voting. This was my first Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo throughout the 5 years of production, but I feel that the show was more of a "festival" for the competitors and attendees rather than an "expo" for the vendors and trade given the nature of the activities for the competitors to participate. From a car audio SPL competition to Show & Shine, r/c drifting to car limbo and exhaust competitions (fan favorites), a female model bikini show by Car Candy and music-mixing by Matthew Makarucha of Squeaky Clean, and not to mention the delicious poutine (fries with cheese curds and gravy), a Canadian delicacy, and ice cream food trucks - Niagara Tuner & Truck Expo was an event full of activities to join, see, watch and/or cheer.
