PAS: Is “Charlene Barnum” your real name or model name?
Charlene Barnum: Both. My real aka name is “CHABA” and its pronounced "SHaba", but the majority of people pronounce it with a "CH" anyway. I don’t really care though, its all goodies.
PAS: Where are you from?
Charlene Barnum: I’m originally from West Covina, CA but I’m residing in Chino Hills, CA now
PAS: Does your personality match your Zodiac sign?
Charlene Barnum: Duuuude! YES! Yes, it does! I’m an Aries. It’s the 1st sign of the zodiac!! Natural born leader, son! JK. No, but in all honesty, it matches me on point. It usually always says something about daring, spontaneous, free spirited, fighter, inventive, expressive and all that jazz! Never fails to amaze with the horoscopes either. Man, oh man! Sometimes, it’s just plain creepy… it’s like, dang! Who's watching me?!? LOL… is there some sort of invisible satellite hovering over my head everywhere i go… monitoring everything I do? It’s weird! It’s always right! But then again, horoscopes are meant to fit what every person goes through and stuff. It’s universal. Blah. But, I still like to believe in it. LOL. Just let me be !!! LOL
PAS: How long have you been modeling?
Charlene Barnum: I stepped into the import modeling scene in 2008. First show I was a part of, was HIN LA 2008. So, basically 2 years and going... wish me luck!
PAS: What would you say are your strengths as a model?
Charlene Barnum: Eek! I don’t wanna say this but I think it’s my dimples? LOL. People ALWAYS compliment me on my freakin dimples! I don’t get it!! If I can give em away, i would! JK. I wouldn’t.
PAS: Do you have any birthmarks, scars or tattoos?
Charlene Barnum: Yessum! A birthmark somewhere on my back; it’s too light to recognize though, unless you’re like STARING at my back then I’m sure you’ll see it… like those 3D illusion images they used to make back then LOL. Remember those? K, never mind. Anyway, tatts...yah i have 3!
First one I ever got was when I was 17. It’s on my back, lower neck, and it hides right under my shirt tag. It’s visible only when you pull it down or if I’m wearing a tank or tube top or whatever. It’s of the infinity symbol...NO NOT THE CAR!!!!!!! The sign that represents "limitless", "never-ending", "forever".. in short.. "INFINITE"!
My second one that I have is of the Queen of Diamonds card. I wanted something more unique to represent my birthstone than just the stone itself. So, I thought of the Queen of Diamonds card. It’s located on my lower tummy. I had it placed where it looks like it’s tucked right under my belt line all the time & its at a tilt, so you can see the top of the card peaking. It’s in full color too!
Then my third tatt is on my lower back, sitting right above my.. can i say crack? I dunno what other word to use lol. Anyway, it says "i love you" in cursive. Why i got it? hmm… let’s keep it PG & move on to the next question >;D

Charlene Barnum: Laid back, weird & sometimes lame. Does that work?
PAS: What is your best beauty secret?
Charlene Barnum: Ask Victoria. jk lol. That was lame. ...beauty secret.. really though, I don’t have a beauty secret. I just go by what I think is ok for me. For example, I eat whatever I want when I want; I have no cut off times before bed or whatever. I just eat whatever I want and I just make sure if I’m gunna eat bad, to balance it out with the good eats too. I know how to eat healthy. My mom’s a freakin health nut! But, I love junk food at the same time. I’m faithful to my veggie & fruits & all that, so I think I’m ok with all the bad stuff I eat. Plus, I keep active. I don’t hit the gym or anything or nor have I ever, but I mean, I don’t sit on my hind all day..
PAS: Why do you love modeling?
Charlene Barnum: It’s a good experience, good exposure, all the new people you meet, photographers, promoters, companies, supporters, other models. It’s cool! All the different places, all the FREE stuff! lol c’mon man! What is there not to love about it?
PAS: With any ‘spotlight’ type of job, you are looked upon as a role model. What advice would you give out to aspiring models?
Charlene Barnum: Just be careful! That’s it! Watch your OWN back. Don’t do anything you DON’T wanna do or feel uncomfortable doing. You may bump into people that try to get you to do things you don’t wanna do and even after a no, they’ll still try and offer you things to get you to do what they want out of you. This can happen anywhere though, so don’t just consider it in the modeling industry.
Don’t follow what other models do just cuz you wanna get your name out there fast and rise to the top quick. I’ve been brought down by some people, for not doing certain things they asked me to do or told me I NEED to do to in order to get famous. It broke my heart cuz they told me I’m “a nobody” and “I’m gunna go nowhere if I don’t do this and that”. But, I didn’t care. I’m not here for them! I’m here cuz I wanna do what i do... my way and if they don’t like it… kick rocks!!
It’s not just about the fame; it’s all about having fun on the way there. Take your time and don’t rush it. Be original. Don’t be the duplicate ;}
PAS: Where can we see you?
Charlene Barnum: I’m not on TV anywhere or anything, but I have been part of a music video for a reggae group called "Black Judah" a couple years back. That was fun. They made us authentic Jamaican food for lunch…. soooo cool!! I also was a part of a tutorial video for Unified Distribution, lol that was pretty fun too. Thanks, Carlo! uhh what else?.. The only times I’ve ever been in magazines were under event coverage pages, a couple times in import tuner and once in Super Street. Luke Munnell actually went up to me at a show and asked me one time if I wanted to do a model feature for Import Tuner, but it was during my first year modeling in the scene so my lame self said "no, I can’t. I’m not ready yet!" loll oh mannn. That was funny! He was like.."are u sure? Ok, well when you ARE ready, give me a call".. and gave me his card. Hmmmmm… You think it’s too late to hit him up and be like "yo, Luke! Wutsup with that feature?" hahahaha..
