Alpine Electronics’ Contest Invites Consumers to Feel The BASSLINE

FeelTheBASSLINE Contest FB Photo 403x403Torrance, Calif. (July 1, 2013) – Alpine Electronics encourages its fans to Feel The BASSLINE through a new online contest.  The Feel The BASSLINE contest is tied-in to Alpine’s BASSLINE™ subwoofers, which were designed with input from the hip-hop group Far East Movement.  Both Alpine and Far East Movement are promoting the contest to their followers.

BASSLINE subwoofers offer powerful, deep bass at budget-friendly prices.  The subwoofers come in two models, the 4-ohm 10-inch SWA-10S4 ($129.95 MAP) and 4-ohm 12-inch SWA-12S4 ($149.95 MAP).  Far East Movement worked with Alpine’s engineers to give input on the qualities they wanted in the subwoofers and named them “BASSLINE” to represent the power and energy that bass brings to music.

To further strengthen Alpine’s social media outreach, the company has launched an official Instagram account for the North American market.  This medium, along with Alpine Electronics of America’s established Facebook page and Twitter feed, will be used to share the company’s news with its consumers and retailers.  The Instagram account plays an integral part throughout the contest.

The contest consists of two parts, and consumers are invited to enter one or both sections.  To be eligible for one of three grand prize packages, consumers need to visit a participating U.S. authorized Alpine retailer, take a picture with a BASSLINE subwoofer in the store, and check-in at that location.  The consumer needs to post the photo on his/her Instagram account using the hashtag #FeelTheBASSLINE, plus the tags @AlpineUSA and @FarEastMovement.  The top three contestants with the most “Likes” at the end of the contest will win an SWA-10S4, an Atrend subwoofer enclosure, an Alpine MRV-M250 V-Power® amplifier, credit towards the system installation at an authorized Alpine retailer, and branded items from Alpine and Far East Movement.

To be eligible to win a runner-up prize, consumers start by downloading a BASSLINE photo from the Feel the BASSLINE app on Alpine or Far East Movement’s Facebook page.  Consumers are encouraged to customize the photo, then post it on their own Instagram account using the hashtag #FeelTheBASSLINE, plus the tags @AlpineUSA and @FarEastMovement.  The top seven contestants with the most “Likes” at the end of the contest will win an SWA-10S4 plus branded items from Alpine and Far East Movement.

The contest runs until July 31, 2013 and is open to U.S. residents age 16 or older.

About Far East Movement
Raised in Downtown Los Angeles, Cherrytree/Interscope group Far East Movement (Kev Nish, Prohgress, J-Splif, and DJ Virman) embody the pulse of contemporary LA. They paid their dues in the underground club scene, expanding their fan base until they became city-wide stars in the wake of their first LA chart topping pop hit, “Girls on the Dance Floor.” They made history on their debut album Free Wired when 2010’s multi-platinum selling single “Like a G6” became the first #1 Billboard Hot 100 song ever achieved by an Asian-American group. They followed with another Billboard Top 10 smash "Rocketeer." Their sophomore album Dirty Bass features the international smash “Live My Life,” an anthemic all-night dance party featuring Justin Bieber, that debuted Top 20 on Billboard and #2 on iTunes instantly. The group's latest Dirty Bass single "Turn Up The Love" hit Top 10 in 10 countries and garnered over 50 million views on VEVO/YouTube.
