BLVD Customs of Lakeland in Lakeland, FL, has just signed on as IASCA's most recent Retail Dealer Member, using IASCA competition and standards to set themselves apart in their market area.
“In today's market it's real easy to get lost in the mix of trying this and that to see what actually works for us" said Jon Lackey, Owner of BLVD Customs of Lakeland." After checking into the organizations that are designed to help the mobile car audio specialist build their company, IASCA and ICE both kept popping up. We wanted to get connected with both, but found out that ICE already had a retail member in our local marketplace and only one dealer is chosen per territory. Blvd Customs Of Lakeland has been around for 15 years in the same location. IASCA has been around for over 20 years and still to this day it's the 12-Volt standard we look up to, for doing things the right way. We preach to our customers everyday that our way of installing car audio is the right way, now that we are associated with IASCA as a worldwide organization our customers will see in black and white through the rule book, that IASCA is the standard by which great mobile electronics performance is measured."
IASCA's Retail Membership Program focuses on key components of everyday business at an independent dealer's shop and provides tools to help retailers stand out from their competition when it comes to product sales, installations and event promotion to attract new business. "We're proud to have Jon and BLVD Customs of Lakeland as part of IASCA's Dealer Member Family. Our goal at IASCA is to offer retail dealers a value added product that they can use to set themselves apart in their market area" stated Moe Sabourin, Director of Operations at IASCA Worldwide Inc. "Independent Mobile Electronics Dealers are the specialists in our industry and what our industry was built on; we as industry members need to provide them with the tools to become the frontrunners in the industry, not just a certificate that says they are members. Our membership program supplies them with product for resale and tools they can use to increase sales and exposure in their market area; in short, there's a return on investment with an IASCA Retail Dealer Membership."
Event promotion is a key component in the retail dealer program, however it may not be what you think... IASCA event promotions for independent dealers are geared towards promoting the shop in their local marketplace, to their local customers. IASCA has a dealer specific format called "MACS", which stands for "Mobile Electronics Car Show", where customers and local car audio enthusiasts open up their vehicles and show off their systems to the public. Awards are presented for Best Audio, Best Video, Best Installation and many more key components focused on mobile electronics, like security systems.
"Our idea is to have a quarterly MACS show here at the shop combined with a NITEGLOW lighting competition" Lackey continued to say "This way, we can get our local community to agree with us that Blvd Customs Of Lakeland is the area's only go-to certified car audio shop.”.
"MACS events at a dealer's store are an advertising campaign, not a competition" Sabourin noted "And as with any good advertising campaign, consistency is the key. Dealers can't expect to hold one show and see short term success; it takes consistency and a desire to succeed for a program such as MACS to be successful for a dealer. IASCA's not just here to allow people to host shows; we want to bring the excitement back to our industry and highlight our independent retailers, proving to the public that they are the professionals in our industry. We need to show them the respect they deserve."
