Have you ever wanted all of that Mopar power found in the Hellcat models for your own project? Well, thanks to the mad masterminds at Mopar, that dream can officially become a reality. Just before SEMA 2017, Mopar announced the Hellcrate – the 707 horsepower supercharged V8 we know and love, now available as a crate engine for $19,530. No transmission is included, but they recommend mating the Hellcrate to a Tremec Magnum six-speed manual.
For ease of setup and installation, Mopar also offers customers a $2,195 engine kit to get you started. It contains an unlocked powertrain control module, power distribution center, throttle-by-wire accelerator pedal, fuel pump, chassis harness, and all the necessary wires and sensors. The unlocked PCM means you’re free to experiment with tuning, just make sure you know what you’re doing, or you might make yourself a 6.2L V8 paperweight.
